Magnesium -- Essential for Health!

Magnesium is essential to all the cells in our body and regulates over 300 enzymes.  It is important for proper muscle and nerve function, and healthy bones and teeth.  Unfortunately it is becoming more and more scarce in our everyday diet and now many health problems are manifesting throughout our population that can be directly lin ked to magnesium deficiency: anxiety, depression, diabetes, fibromyalgia, heart disorders, high blood pressure, insomnia, migranes, tics and twitches, and tight muscles (including TMJ).

How does the clay work?

The experts don’t know exactly why the Clay has produced so many amazing results for so many different problems.  But we do know some important characteristics of the Clay that can help explain its extraordinary power:
•It has a negative electrical charge and works like a magnet to attract heavy metals, bad bacterial, toxins and other contaminants that all carry a positive electrical charge.  When applied topically these contaminants are drawn out and absorbed by the clay. When ingested to detoxify, the clay attracts these heavy metals, toxins and other contaminants and absorbs them like a sponge.  They are subsequently expelled as body waste.
• It works on cellular revitalization by pulling excess hydrogen out of the cells thus allowing them to replace it with oxygen.
• It increases circulation and blood flow to the problem area.
• Insidious bacterias like MRSA do not build up a resistance to the antibacterial, antimicrobial properties of the clay.  We know of one surgeon who applies the clay around all of the surgical incisions he makes.
• The mineral content, especially the magnesium, is essential to our digestive process and for maintaining healthy bones, teeth, and proper muscle and nerve function.

Ways to Use the Clay:

There are many different ways to use the clay and start it working for you.  For most skin irritations applying a thin coat of hydrated clay to the affected area is all that’s needed.  It can be left on for several hours or overnight if necessary.  It’s not messy and will not stain most fabric.  Rinse off completely before reapplying.  Do not mix or apply the clay with metallic objects as it will render the Clay’s magnetic charge less effective.

Facials: Apply a thin even coat all over the face and neck.  After about 10 to 15 minutes rinse off with cool water and blot dry.  This will improve circulation, reduce puffiness and dark circles under the eyes, remove blackheads and other impurities and tone and soften the skin.  It also works well for removing make-up.

Acne: Spot treat.  Apply the clay once a day and leave on for 15 minutes.  Wash off with cool water.  Continue on a daily basis until blemishes are gone.

Pain Relief: Use the clay on just about any area where you are suffering from aches and pains.  It has been used for pain relief for centuries and provides relief for a vast variety of painful conditions.  Apply a thin coat to the affected area.  You can leave it on for several hours or more.  Rinse off with cool water.

Bathing: For clay baths add about 1 or 2 tablespoons or as much as a ¼ cup of clay to your bath water, stir well, and soak for at least 15 minutes.  Rinse with cool water and blot dry.  Your skin will feel great.  The skin is an excellent conduit for detoxification and it will also absorb magnesium from the clay.  Repeated use of clay baths will leave your skin amazingly soft.

Foot Soaks: Some people like to detox through their feet.  Add 1-2 tablespoons of clay into a small container of water.  Stir then add to hot water and soak feet for at at least 15 minutes.  Rinse with cool water and pat dry.  You can also cover your feet with a thin coat of hydrated clay then place them in the hot water.

Internal: For detoxing add 1 or 2 teaspoons per 16 oz of water - some people prefer distilled water for detoxing - and mix.  The clay will not dissolve in water but it will stay suspended for a while.  Heavy metals and other impurities will be removed naturally from your body but the minerals will be absorbed.  The clay has no taste or smell.  The FDA classifies bentonite clay as “GRAS” (Generally Recognized As Safe)

Use with pets and other animals: Animals are drawn to the clay for its mineral content.  I’ve had pets come up to me and lick dried clay right off my hands or any spot on my body where it had been applied.  However a small amount sprinkled with their food will work fine.  Some animals will drink it with their water.  Hydrated clay can also be applied to cuts or other problems with their skin.

Poultice: A poultice may be needed for skin conditions where draining ocurs.  A poultice is an application using a cloth saturated with clay and covering the affected area.
